Ping Pong Fun at North Hill Village Hall

Whilst athletes throughout the world are busy training for the Olympics and Paralympics, a number of service users from the Echo Centre, Liskeard enjoyed a day out at North Hill Village Hall. The hall committee invited the users to play table tennis and have lunch. Everyone had a fabulous time, whilst some learned new skills, others rediscovered hidden talents, and everyone worked up a hearty appetite!

Members of the North Hill table tennis group were on hand to provide coaching.

A delicious lunch of soup & bread and scrumptious puddings – all home made by local residents – was eagerly devoured. There were many calls of “more please”.

A huge thank you to the Table Tennis Group for the loan of their equipment and all those people who helped by preparing / serving food and providing assistance to the visitors.

Lucinda's a Hit!

The North Hill village hall was decorated for the festive season and the marvellous tree, donated by the Trebatha Estate looked splendid, all we needed now was a special concert with a large audience.

On the 17th December at 7.30pm the concert began with an audience of over 80 people some travelling from as far away as Oxford to see the local recording artist Lucinda Drayton perform.

Without doubt it was a enchanting evening perhaps the highlight was hearing 80 voices join with Lucinda in a rendition of the Carol King composition 'You've got a Friend' At the interval mince pies & hot drinks were enjoyed by both the performers and the audience. The Christmas raffle was drawn and 5 lucky people were recipients of an early Xmas gift.

The evening closed about 10.00pm with many local people humming as they departed into the night and no doubt planning on attending the next musical event at the village hall. Keep an eye on this website for future events.
