Our Village Hall is situated in the pretty village of North Hill, located some 7 miles south west of Launceston, the ancient capital of Cornwall. In this website, you will find all the information you need about the Hall - its facilities, how to make a reservation, the various user groups that frequent the Hall and so on. More about North Hill North Hill Village (Cornish: Bre Gledh) is situated on the eastern flank of Bodmin Moor, near the wooded valley of the River Lynher. In the centre of the village is North Hill Church, dedicated to St. Torney. The exact date of the church is unknown, but it is believed to be over 600 years old. Most of the buildings around the Church were part of the Trebartha Estate, and are mainly eighteenth century. The Trebartha estate is one of four farms mentioned in Domesday Book. Since that time, the village has expanded, and now contains a pleasant blend of old and new housing. There is a popular pub, 'The Racehorse Inn' serving excellent meals, and hosting the village quiz, folk evening, morris dancing, and other events. The Fairs that in the eighteenth century were held on the last Monday of April, 8th September, and the first Thursday of November. are alas no longer held, but there is still a lot going on in the Village, centering mainly on the Village Hall.
